Nintendo Game Boy Micro

Launched in 2005, the Game Boy Micro looks set to be popular with gamers everywhere, thanks to its small size and the large range of game titles currently available. Essentially a scaled down version of its predecessor, the Micro is designed as a smaller, more compact version of the Game Boy Advance SP as opposed to breaking new ground like the Nintendo DS with its virtual surround sound and touch screen technology. However, being one of the latest in the Nintendo line of games consoles means that the Game Boy Micro offers you the choice of over 700 game titles from the Game Boy Advance library.

The Game Boy Micro weighs in at 3.1 ounces (with game cartridge) and is four inches wide, two inches in height and 0.7 inches in depth, making it the ideal fit for your trouser pocket. In addition to its small size and portability, the Game Boy Micro is available in two colours,black and silver, but with optional clip-on faceplates (these aren't just for show as they offer protection for the screen from scratches and scrapes).

• Wireless Adapter

The Game Boy Micro is equipped with a wireless adapter which allows up to five people to play compatible multi-player games together without the use of cables. Check the game cartridge packaging to see whether the game you have bought uses this feature.

• Backlit Screen

The Game Boy Micro has a 2-inch backlit screen that offers you high resolution graphics and hundreds of colours.

• Great Sound

The Game Boy Micro games console has two sound options. You can either use the external speaker or plug your earphones into the 1/8 inch jack for private gaming.

• Optional Faceplates

Is your plain black Game Boy Micro a bit boring to look at? How about a new colour scheme? With the optional faceplates you can change its look altogether! Each console comes with three faceplates to choose from allowing you to customise its look. The silver Micro contains the black, floral and spiral faceplates, whilst the black edition has silver, camouflage and red shell patterned versions.

• Built-in Rechargeable Battery

A rechargeable Lithium-ion battery provides the power for your Game Boy Micro. When you run out of power, you simply plug the AC adaptor into the console to recharge.

• Extensive Choice of Games

With the choice of over 700 titles in the Game Boy Advance library, you won't be stuck finding games to play! Games for the Nintendo Game Boy Micro include:
