Games Console UMD Videos

UMD is a storage device designed by Sony specifically for the Sony PSP. UMD stands for Universal Media Disc and is a disc of only around 60mm in diameter which can be used to store up to 1.8GB of data.

UMD can be used to store digital entertainment such as games software, full-motion video, music and movies, and there is now an extensive choice of pre-recorded UMD movies available for the Sony PSP. This means that you can watch the latest films on your PSP while you're on the move.

It's important to remember that UMD Movies are region-coded in a similar way to DVDs and so if you buy a UMD Movie which is not from the same region as your own Sony PSP you won't be able to play it. The regions are as follows:

• Region 0 – Worldwide

• Region 1 – The Americas

• Region 2 – The European Union, Japan, the Middle East, Egypt, South Africa and Greenland

• Region 3 – Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia and Hong Kong

• Region 4 – Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands

• Region 5 – Russia, Eastern Europe, India, Africa, North Korea, Mongolia.

• Region 6 – China.
