Games Console Remote Controls
A games console remote control (as opposed to a game-pad or games console controller) can make CD or DVD playback as simple and straight forward on your games console is it would be on a sound-system or DVD player.
Some games console manufacturers encourage you to buy their official remote controls, as other brands can sometimes be less reliable.
Here are some of the different types of games console remote control currently on the market:
Games Console Remote Controls for the Microsoft XBox
In order for DVD playback to be possible with the Microsoft XBox games console, you need to have a remote control and an IR receiver. Unlike the Sony PS2 or the Microsoft XBox 360, DVD playback cannot be achieved by using a control pad.

While the newer versions of the Sony PS2 have an IR port for remote controls, many of the older models require you to insert an infra-red receiver into your Sony PlayStation 2 games console. The Venom DVD/CD Remote Control for the Sony PlayStation 2 has a small comfortable design with clearly marked, easy to use buttons. It has the ability to automatically turn itself off to save battery life, has a 30ft range and comes in either a black or silver. The IR receiver has an input port for a control pad, which means you won't ever need to remove the IR unit once it's in place.
